Content Standards

Every guide on this site has to earn its place. These are the standards an article has to meet before it goes live and each time it is reviewed.

Original and useful

Articles are written for this site by a named author. We do not republish press releases, syndicated feeds or text lifted from other publications.

A guide has to answer the question in its title in the first few lines, then earn the rest of the reader's time with detail, numbers, examples or comparisons they cannot get from the snippet.

Substance over length

We would rather publish one thorough guide than five thin pages on the same subject. Pages that exist only to hold advertising, keyword pages and auto-generated filler are not published.

Where a table, checklist or worked example answers better than prose, we use one.

Safe and lawful

We do not publish adult content, hate speech, harassment, violent or shocking material, content promoting weapons, illegal drugs, or anything encouraging dangerous or dishonest behaviour.

Health, money and legal topics are written as general information with sources, and always point readers to a qualified professional for personal decisions.

Clear labelling

Advertising is visually separated from editorial content and never disguised as an article, navigation or a download button.

Affiliate links and any commercial relationship are disclosed on the page where they appear.

Reviewed and dated

Each article shows its author, publication date and last-updated date. Evergreen guides are revisited at least yearly, and sooner when a rule or price changes.

Articles that can no longer be brought up to standard are rewritten or removed rather than left online.
